Home Education

The London Canal Museum has a great deal to offer home educating families. The collections include displays about the lives of the families who lived on their canal boats; the origins of, and changing land use around, Battlebridge Basin; lifting & weighing canal boat cargoes; canal art; Carlo Gatti and the trade in ice from Norway; the London canal system; the horses who were used to power the boats; the operation of locks; and the Regent’s Canal. There is material here to interest children of all ages and abilities.

Supported visits may be made by groups (10+ learners) or by those who wish to access our Home Ed Days. The cost is £5 per child, with one free adult per family. Payment should be made in advance and is usually non-refundable.
