The London Canal Museum has a great deal to offer home educating families. The collections include displays about many aspect of the canals:
The lives of the families who lived on their canal boats;
The origins of, and changing land use around, Battlebridge Basin;
Lifting & weighing canal boat cargoes;
Canal art;
Carlo Gatti and the trade in ice from Norway;
The London canal system;
The horses who were used to power the boats;
The operation of locks;
And the Regent’s Canal.
Supported visits may be made by groups (10+ learners) and the cost is £5 per child, with one free adult per family. Payment should be made in advance and is usually non-refundable.
