The camera’s view is from the River Thames looking north, with Liverpool Warehouse (fire damaged in 1910) and The Regent’s Canal Dock in background. The barge lock linked the River Thames to The Regent’s Canal Dock, at Limehouse. Photographs of this long-forgotten London lock are now rare.
