We do not know what the special occasion was here. The men outside a Carlo Gatti and Stevenson building are wearing suits and button-holes, and most are wearing hats rather than flat caps. They are all smartly dressed. They are posed against a vehicle, a “charabang” or “Char-a-bancs”, an early form of motor coach. Unfortunately we do not know what the special occasion was but there is a musical instrument in the scene, so it looks as if this may have been a happy occasion.
