The book Waterways on the Western Front is published by the museum and sold in the museum shop at £14.99. Over 100 pages in length, it is a mainly pictorial rendition of the story of the use of canals by British forces, and by humanitarian workers, in the First World War. Barges were used to transport the injured in mobile hospitals, and to supply food to the beleagured civilian population, as well as to carry military supplies and even horses were moved by barge. The book arose from the temporary exhibition of the same title that was held at the museum in 2014-15. This fascinating book is available from us in person or can be ordered by post at £18.50 including postage and packing. To order by post please go to our payment page or send funds using Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use the reference WWF.We accept payment by major credit and debit cards.
